June 2021 Film Blogging Challenge

 For the rest of this year I am hoping to do a different blog theme each month to write on. 

 For June the theme is going to be a scene a wedding from a movie, or a movie with a wedding in it. 

 I am going to try to write at least one post a week.

 Anyone that would like to is welcome to participate.

 Rules:

 *Write a blog post with a wedding scene from a movie, or a movie with a wedding in it, any time during the month of June.

 *Include a link back here and the banner on your blog post.

 *Post a link to your post in the comment section of this post.  

 *Duplicates are fine.

 *There is no limits on how many posts you do.

 *No movies after 1970.

 *At the end of the month I will post everyone's links that participated.

  I am writing this post for The Umpteenth Blogathon Hosted by Essays from the Couch.   Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is classic musical about towns girl Millie (Jane Powell) who marries backwoodsman Adam Pontipee (Howard Keel) after a whirlwind courtship and goes to live with him and his six brothers on his farm.  Howard Keel sings "Bless Yore Beutiful Hide." Double Agent (1987)

   If there was anybody who know how to make a movie "so bad it was good" to perfection, it was Disney as this '80s spy film shows.  Veterinarian, Warren Starbinder, (Micheal McKean) lives a normal life with his wife, their two kids, and the family dog.    That all changes when he is convinced by Special Agent Vaughn (Loyd Bochner) to pose as his identical twin brother Jason Starr.  Soon Warren is trying to meet a contact, to get a secret document; all the while trying to avoid a thug and two KGB agents who are after him.   At first Warren doesn't believe that his brother was a spy till he's shown the spy gadgets in his apartment; because a man is not a secret agent unless he has cool spy gadgets in his apartment.  A secret agent must also have a fancy high-powered car with cool gadgets; a pack of licorice sticks instead of cigarettes, and a partner who just got of spy school, who is more of a hindrance than a help.  Of course no self respect...

Thursday Movie Picks / Oscar Winners: Best Original Score and Best Original Song

 I am doing Thursday Movie Picks for the first time ever.  It is hosted by Wandering through the Shelves .     The theme for Thursday this week is Oscar Winners: Best Original Score and Best Original Song .  Ideally I should of posted this on Thursday, but I've been so busy I haven't had time to write anything till now. Best Original Score  Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) I love the score for this movie. It's very lighthearted and fun, and it suits the movie perfectly. The Sound of Music (1965)  The score for this movie is very good. It's one of my favorites.  Chariots of Fire (1981)  I think the score is one of the things that really make this movie. I love it. It's very moving and very good.   Best Original Song Swing Time (1936) ~ "The Way You Look Tonight"  I love this song, and it was the third song to win the Academy Award for Best Song.
