The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca and The Swamp Fox

 My favorite TV series Disney made was their historical fiction shows in the 50s and 60s.  While Davey Crockett was probably their most famous historical show; Disney also made other shows such as; The Swamp Fox, Texas John Slaughter, and Elfego Baca.  For this post I'm going to be talking about the two shows I'm most familiar with, "The Swamp Fox" and "The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca." "The Nine Lives of Elfego Baca" (1958-1960)  Based on the true story of Elfego Baca, (played by Robert Loggia), this series is one of my favorite westerns.  The episodes were introduced by Walt Disney, and had a catchy theme song.  The pilot episode tells the true story of when Elfego Baca held of eighty cowboys who fired 4,00 bullets in to the shack he was holding up in; and he wasn't even wounded.  The series lasted for ten episodes, and most, if not all, of them can be found on YouTube.  "The Swamp Fox" (1959-1961)  Based on the true story story of Re...

My Six Favorite Movies Through the Decades (1930s-1980s)

  I am writing this post for the 6 Films 6 Decades Blogathon hosted by Classic Films & TV Cafe  https://www.classicfilmtvcafe.com/2021/03/6Films-6Decades-Blogathon.html    For the blogathon I am writing about a favorite movie from each decade 1930-1980. (I have so many favorite films, so this is only a list of some of my favorites.)     Shall We Dance (1937) with Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Edward Everett Horton, and Eric Blore.  I know Shall We Dance is not one of Fred and Ginger's more popular films, but it's one of my favorites. I love the music, the dancing, the comedy, the fashions, and the Art Deco sets.       Road To Rio (1947) with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, and Dorothy Lamour.  This movie is just so hilarious. Bing and Bob break the forth wall multiple times. Against the Crowd Blogathon 2021

 I am doing the Against the Crowd Blogathon hosted by Dell on the Movies , for the first time ever.  It is a blogathon where you write about a movie you hated that had a high rating according to Rotten Tomatoes; and a movie you loved that had a low rating.    The Princess Bride (1987)  To be honest the first 15 to 20 minutes is pretty funny, but this movie is a hour and ten  minutes too long.  The romance story is just dumb (like most of the movie), and not funny; and how was the torture scene even suppose to be funny?!  I really don't understand why people like this movie so much.    The Million Dollar Duck (1971)  Of course after talking about how dumb The Princess Bride was I'm going to talk about how I like a movie about a duck that starts laying eggs with a golden yolk, after eating some strangely made applesauce and getting accidentally zapped by radiation.   I guess this movie is also kind of dumb, but it is the k...
